Background:
I am asking some basic questions in order to gauge the audience, relevance, and usefulness of Planet Ubuntu. I have my opinions, but I would like to see what the data says.

All poll results will be summarized and published here.

Got an idea for an enhancement for Planet Ubuntu? Please share it! Let the world know.

Not an Ubuntu member (and can't post to Planet Ubuntu)? If you have a poll question you'd like me to ask, just ask (in the comments)!

It is bad enough that some articles have nothing to do with Ubuntu. If the authors are honest about how their post isn't about Ubuntu, but that the article is still about using open source technologies to democratize information exchange, I can respect that (even if I'm still unsure if it should be on Planet). But there are articles that use Ubuntu in a title, and have absolutely nothing to do with it. That's plain false advertising. I could only pick one of the items in this poll, but I have to say, when I read a post today that had Ubuntu in the title but it's about a topic that is simply irrelevant or even inappropriate for Planet, I was angry (because I thought I was reading something about Ubuntu and it clearly wasn't), and I immediately told a friend about it. I was appalled that the person used Ubuntu's name to get the post on Planet and drew audience to it. I did not want to write an article to condemn the original article only because I did not think the article deserves more attention.

For those who have long argued that we should allow any Ubuntu member to post anything on Planet, maybe this is our great opportunity to explore again the real purpose of Planet Ubuntu -- assuming there is (at least) one.
